Dolphin Square is a 10 storey apartment building situated in Pimlico and was recently associated with a case of Legionnaire Disease.
To date, it has been reported only one elderly person has contracted Legionnaires Disease within their apartment according to Public Health England.
Following numerous investigating water samples it is understood that traces of the deadly bacteria may have been located in a shower within the investigated apartment block.
Due to access restriction between landlords and tenants, required routine maintenance checks such as regular shower cleaning may be relaxed or even dismissed.
It is imperative such establishments are thoroughly risk assessed, and a suitable but practicable monitoring program is implemented to prevent occupants potentially contracting Legionnaire Disease.
